Standards of behavior
The following is an excerpt from the Student Handbook, pages 21-22 

(1) Any violation of local, state or federal laws or regulations. In the event the behavior of any student leads to an arrest, a charge and/or a conviction by civil authorities, the University reserves the right to apply its own disciplinary procedures and penalties. (In other words, misconduct that occurs off-campus and results in a charge of violation of a federal or state criminal law is grounds for disciplinary action on campus.)

(2) Conduct dangerous to oneself or others. Any conduct which constitutes an imminent, serious danger to any person's health, safety or personal well-being, including any physical or mental abuse or immediate threat of abuse.

(3) Hazing. Any act of hazing by an individual or a group.

(4) Disorderly conduct. Any abusive, obscene, lewd, indecent, violent, excessively noisy, disorderly, destructive behavior which disturbs student life, University activities, or administrative and educational functions of the institution.

(5) The unauthorized use, or the abuse, destruction, or theft of property of the University or any of its members, guests, or neighbors. This regulation covers the unauthorized appropriation or "borrowing" of common property for personal use.

(6) Misuse, vandalism, malicious or unwarranted destruction or defacing of another's or University property.

(7) Misuse of documents or identification cards. Any forgery, alteration of, or unauthorized use of school documents, forms, records or identification cards, including dishonesty of any kind with respect to course assignments, examinations, or illegal possession of examinations.

(8) Academic Dishonesty. The failure to document the use of the words of others, of the data developed by others, and/or the ideas, conclusions, or opinions of others, even in paraphrases. (See Academic Affairs section for more information.)

(9) Tampering with safety equipment. Disturbing or removing fire extinguishers, alarmed doors, safety alarms or other campus safety devices. Creating a fire, safety, or health hazard.

(10) Failure to evacuate University facilities or willfully disregarding any emergency or fire alarm signal or drill.

(11) Failure to register a motor vehicle which is used on campus and/or failure to comply with the provisions of the University parking and traffic regulations.

(12) Financial irresponsibility. Failure to meet financial responsibilities at the University, which includes knowingly paying by means of worthless check or money order.

(13) Disruption or obstruction of teaching (including cell phone use and text messaging in class), research, administration, disciplinary proceedings, other University activities, including its functions on or off campus, or other authorized non-University activities, when the act occurs on University premises.

(14) The unlawful possession or use of any drug or controlled substance, or the sale or distribution of any such drug or substance. (Official drug policy follows.) Possession of drug paraphernalia or any items deemed an "instrument of crime."

(15) The use, possession or distribution of any form of alcoholic beverage on the University campus. Possession of empty or decorative alcohol bottles are considered a violation.

(16) Behaviors due to the abuse of alcohol or other mind altering substances which disrupt the normal order of the community. Such disruptive behavior includes fighting, unconsciousness, loss of motor control, and destruction of public and/or private property.

(17) Unauthorized entry into or use of college property, including facilities, residence halls, equipment, or resources (example, unapproved access to the roof of a building, removing window screens, or propping open exterior doors).

(18) The unauthorized possession of weapons, explosives, and dangerous chemicals on campus.

(19) Sexual harassment. (See sexual harassment policy which follows.)

(20) All forms of tobacco in public buildings on campus, including residence halls are prohibited.

(21) Gambling in any form on University property.

(22) The intentional infringement upon the right of any member of the community. The persistent interruption of a reasonable level of peace and quiet.

(23) Visiting in the residence hall rooms of members of the opposite sex outside the specified residential life regulations.

(24) Unauthorized use of or duplication of keys, computer access codes, long distance caller identity codes and other devices.

(25) Public display of films, pictures, or other material that depicts or describes sexual conduct, have sexual or obscene innuendo or express obscene language. For example, the wearing of articles of clothing which depict sexual acts.

(26) Any violation of the University code of computing practices policy, e-mail distribution regulations, or unauthorized access to University network.

(27) Failure to comply with directions of University officials acting in the performance of their duty.

(28) Failure to comply with the judicial procedure of the University, including failure to respond to the request for an interview by the judicial officer or hearing body during the investigation of a violation, and failure to comply with the terms of any disciplinary sanction imposed in accordance with the student conduct code.
